In 2021, Carey Hert & Kendra DeYoung-Gunhold started Big Sky BBQ, providing full-service catering and food truck services. As Montana natives they provide quality BBQ cuisine, consisting of smoked meats, and homemade sides & sauces, as well as top-notch customer service and experiences. Carey & Kendra are longtime residents of Washington, previously in the Bothell area, and currently residing in Lake Stevens.  Carey & Kendra have 5 children, Tyler, Ryan, Ashlee, Abigail & Lillian.

Carey & Kendra have been serving others for over 50 years, with Carey spending time in the United States Army, followed by a 25- year career in Law Enforcement, and Kendra serving as a social worker for over 25 years. The- majority-of this time being in the greater Northwest.

When not working, Carey & Kendra enjoy spending time with family and friends, frequently hosting get-togethers, surrounded by a vast variety of great fun, conversation, and food.

For the past several years, Carey and Kendra have been looking at life beyond law enforcement and social work, and in keeping with their passion for good food and service to others, they have decided to get more involved in their local community through their passion for socialization and great food.
